What Are Your Kitchen Cabinet Options?
There are three main ways to update kitchen cabinets: reface what you have, replace them with new stock or semi-custom cabinets, or build fully custom. The right choice depends on the condition of your current cabinets and whether you’re changing the layout.
- Refacing, Replacing, or Custom
Refacing keeps your existing cabinet boxes and gives them new doors, drawer fronts, and a matching veneer. Replacing swaps the whole cabinet. Custom builds to your exact space and storage needs. Each fits a different budget and goal, and we’ll walk you through the tradeoffs.
- When Refacing Makes Sense vs. New Cabinets
Refacing is a great value when your boxes are structurally sound and you’re happy with the current layout, since it costs less and finishes faster. But it can’t change the layout, and it won’t help if the boxes are water-damaged or falling apart. In those cases, new cabinets are the honest answer.
- How to Reach Us
Our Cabinet Process
- Design and Measure
We measure your kitchen, confirm the layout, and design the cabinets in 3D so you can see doors, finishes, and storage together. Your final price is set in writing up front.
- Remove or Prep
For new cabinets, our in-house crew removes the old ones and preps the space. For refacing, we prep the existing boxes and check that they’re sound before we start.
- Install or Reface
We install new cabinets level and secure, or apply new doors, fronts, and veneer for a reface, along with your hardware and any storage upgrades.
- Final Walkthrough
We review the finished cabinets with you, check that every door and drawer operates smoothly, and go over the manufacturer coverage on your cabinets.
Cabinet Styles & Options
- Custom and Semi-Custom Cabinets
Semi-custom cabinets offer a wide range of sizes and finishes at a better value, while fully custom cabinets are built to your exact dimensions and storage needs, ideal for odd layouts or specific requirements. Cabinets pair naturally with new Kitchen Countertops.
- Cabinet Refacing
Refacing updates the look of your kitchen in less time and at a lower cost than replacement, using new doors, drawer fronts, and veneer over your existing boxes. It’s a strong option when the bones are good and you like your layout.
- Storage and Hardware Upgrades
Add pull-out shelves, deep drawers, lazy Susans, soft-close hinges, and drawer organizers to make the cabinets work harder. These upgrades often matter more day to day than the finish itself.
Why Choose Us
- Custom Cabinetry, One Team
We design, build, and install cabinets in-house, so your layout, cabinets, and finishes come from one team, not a cabinet shop plus a separate installer. That keeps quality and the schedule in our hands. Cabinets are part of a full Full Kitchen Remodels.
- In-House Crews and Manufacturer Warranties
We’re a licensed general contractor (ROC 365652) and master plumber (ROC 367067), bonded and insured, with about 50 years of combined experience. Your cabinets carry their manufacturer warranty, and we set your final price in writing with no change orders. This is part of our full Kitchen Remodeling services.
Kitchen Cabinet Cost Factors & Timeline
- What Affects the Cost
The main drivers are whether you reface or replace, stock versus semi-custom versus custom, the door style and finish, hardware and storage upgrades, and any layout change. We measure your kitchen and give you a clear written price up front. Ask about $2,500 off kitchen remodels and financing for qualified borrowers.
- How Long It Takes
Refacing is one of the quicker cabinet projects once materials arrive. New stock or semi-custom cabinets take longer, and fully custom cabinets add lead time for building. After we measure, we’ll give you a realistic schedule.
Hear It From Your Neighbors
How long does a Kitchen remodel take?
Should I reface or replace my kitchen cabinets?
Reface if your cabinet boxes are solid and you like the layout, since it costs less and finishes faster. Replace if the boxes are damaged, or if you want to change the layout, which refacing can’t do. We’ll look at your cabinets and give you the honest call.
What's the difference between custom, semi-custom, and stock cabinets?
Stock cabinets come in set sizes and finishes and cost the least. Semi-custom offers more sizes and finishes at a middle price. Custom cabinets are built to your exact space and storage needs. We’ll help you match the option to your kitchen and budget.
Can I keep my cabinets and just update the doors?
Yes, that’s refacing. We replace the doors, drawer fronts, and hardware and apply a matching veneer to the boxes, so the kitchen looks new without a full replacement. It works well when the existing boxes are in good shape.

Do you install cabinet organizers and soft-close hardware?
Yes. We add pull-out shelves, deep drawers, lazy Susans, soft-close hinges, and drawer organizers. These upgrades often make the biggest difference in how the kitchen functions day-to-day, so they’re worth considering for any cabinet project.
