What Is a Full Kitchen Remodel, and Is It Right for You?
A full kitchen remodel rebuilds the entire kitchen, not just the cabinets and counters. We take it down to the studs and redo the layout, cabinets, countertops, flooring, lighting, and the plumbing and electrical behind them.
- What a Full Kitchen Remodel Includes
Demolition to the studs, any layout or wall changes, relocated plumbing and electrical, new cabinets and countertops, flooring, lighting, and appliance hookups. It’s the right call when the kitchen is dated throughout, or the layout simply doesn’t work for how you cook and gather.
- Full Remodel or a Refresh?
If your layout works and you mainly want new cabinet fronts and counters, a refresh may be enough; see Kitchen Cabinets. A full gut is a bigger investment, so it makes the most sense when the kitchen no longer works for you, not for quick payback. We’ll tell you honestly which one fits your goals.
- How to Reach Us
Our Full Kitchen Remodel Process
- Design and Written Quote
We measure your kitchen, design it in 3D so you can see the layout, cabinets, and finishes, and set your final price in writing up front, with no change orders after demolition.
- Demolition Down to the Studs
Our in-house crew removes everything to the framing, inspects for damage, and makes repairs before rebuilding. No subcontractors handling your home.
- Layout, Plumbing, and Electrical
Because we hold a master plumber license, we relocate the sink and dishwasher plumbing, and we remove walls and update the electrical for a new layout. If a new layout moves a gas range, we coordinate the gas line work with the proper licensing and permits.
- Cabinets, Counters, and Final Walkthrough
We install cabinets, countertops, flooring, backsplash, and lighting, then review the finished kitchen with you and go over the manufacturer coverage on your cabinets, countertops, and appliances.
What a Full Kitchen Remodel Can Change
- Layout Changes and Wall Removal
We open up closed-off kitchens by removing load-bearing walls and reworking the floor plan for an island, a bigger work triangle, or an open-concept feel. See Wall Removal & Resizing.
- Cabinets, Countertops, and Flooring
Choose custom cabinets, quartz or granite countertops, and durable, waterproof flooring. Browse Kitchen Countertops and Kitchen Flooring.
- Small and Galley Kitchens
Small and galley kitchens often gain the most from a full remodel, since a smart layout and the right storage can make a tight space work far better than it looks like it should.
Why Choose Us
- Licensed to Do the Whole Kitchen
We’re a licensed general contractor (ROC 365652) and master plumber (ROC 367067), bonded and insured. That combination lets us remove walls, move plumbing, and take a kitchen down to the studs, work most kitchen remodelers who focus on refacing can’t do.
- In-House Crews and Honest Pricing
The team that designs your kitchen is the team that builds it, with about 50 years of combined experience. Your final price goes in writing before we start, with no surprise change orders. This is part of our full Kitchen Remodeling services.
Full Kitchen Remodel Cost Factors & Timeline
- What Affects the Cost
The biggest drivers are how much the layout and plumbing change, whether walls come out, the cabinet and countertop tier you choose, and your appliances. We measure your kitchen and give you a clear written price up front. Ask about $2,500 off your kitchen remodel and financing for qualified borrowers.
- How Long It Takes, and Living Without a Kitchen
A full kitchen remodel takes several weeks, longer than a wet-area bathroom project, because of the layout, cabinets, and finishes involved. You’ll be without a working kitchen for part of that, so we’ll help you plan a temporary setup and sequence the work to keep the disruption as short as we can.

How long does a Kitchen remodel take?
Will I be able to cook during a full kitchen remodel?
Not in the kitchen itself while it’s torn out. You’ll be without a working kitchen for part of the project, so we help you set up a temporary spot with your fridge, microwave, and a few essentials, and we sequence the work to shorten the gap as much as possible.
What does "down to the studs" mean for a kitchen?
It means removing everything- cabinets, counters, flooring, and often drywall- back to the framing. That lets us change the layout, move plumbing and electrical, and fix anything hidden behind the walls, then rebuild the kitchen the way you want it.
Do you remodel small and galley kitchens?
Yes, and they’re often the most rewarding. A tight galley or small kitchen usually improves the most from a smart layout, better storage, and the right materials. We design each one to make the space work harder than it did before.
Do you move the plumbing and gas for a new kitchen layout?
Yes. As master plumbers, we relocate the sink and dishwasher plumbing ourselves. If your new layout moves a gas range, we coordinate the gas line work with the proper licensing, permits, and inspection, so it’s done safely and to code.
Should I do a full remodel or just update my kitchen?
If the layout works and you mainly want a fresher look, new cabinets and counters may be enough. If the kitchen doesn’t function well or is dated throughout, a full remodel is worth it. We’ll give you an honest recommendation based on your kitchen and goals.
